About ABC

The Agri-Business Council of Oregon (ABC) is a private, non-profit volunteer membership organization established in 1966.  Using industry collaboration, ABC works to preserve and enhance the vitality of Oregon agriculture. 

ABC Goals:

  • Provide leadership for Keeping Agriculture Viable in Oregon, an industry-wide effort to unite agriculture's diverse voices and leverage its combined resources to affect statewide awareness.
  • Offer affinity programs to help keep agricultural businesses competitive.
  • Offer public information resources to impress upon citizens the importance of Oregon agriculture and its benefits to economy and lifestyle.
  • Provide educational resources to help teach Oregonians about agriculture, showcase agri-tourism techniques and connect urban residents to the farming community through activities, education and events.
  • Provide product promotion resources for products grown and/or processed in Oregon.

From the 1966 Articles of Incorporation:

to provide information services for the enlightenment of all citizens on the importance of the Oregon agri-business industry and its services to the economy
to provide a medium of communication within the agri-business industry, and among agriculture, consumers and the public at large
to unite Oregon agriculture and allied business enterprises in common programs for the enhancement of the well-being of the state
to determine Oregon agri-business problems upon which agreement may be reached and to develop programs related thereto
and to arrange for study and research on approved projects..."
