Family Business Transition Expert Workshop Series, April 7
10 am - 2 pm at the Agri-Business Council of Oregon Offices
Join us for our workshop focusing on family business
transition. Create a less stressful work environment for you
and your family by developing various policies and processes that
will ultimately set you up for a smooth leadership transition for
your retirement. Recommended that at least one member from
each generation attend.
This workshop will cover the issues and fears that handcuff many
family business owners and prevent them from developing a
succession plan. These fears are usually related to:
- Fear of losing your source of income and your hard earned
wealth
- Fear of losing control, your autonomy, or your personal
identity
- Fear of conflict within the family or business
Some of the specific topics that we will cover:
- Skills and techniques to improve family communications and
form a "we" focus
- Preparing for ownership transition and estate planning
solutions
- Leadership and management succession - developing a process
for passing the baton
- Creating a shared vision and shared goals for the business
and the family
Registration is $35 for ABC members and $70 for non-members.
Please contact the ABC office at 503.595.9121 or

RSVP.
Oregon's Integrated Water Resources Strategy 2010 Open Houses
Four state agencies have been given responsibility for developing
an integrated water resources strategy for Oregon by 2012, with 5
year updates thereafter. This spring, these agencies, along with
commissioners and local partners, will host a series of evening
open houses throughout Oregon communities. Various stations
will allow participants to engage in individual conversations and
facilitated discussions, listen to presentations, and to ask
questions about current issues and local projects. A “kid's
center”will allow younger attendees to participate in
water‐related activities.

Wind Power for
Communities, April 6, 2010
Northwest Sustainable Energy for Economic Development (Northwest SEED), the
Energy Trust, and partners will host a wind workshop this spring for landowners
interested in wind development. The workshops are designed to educate and inform
landowners on the development of wind on all scales. Similar workshops have been
conducted over the past two years meeting with sell-out crowds. Northwest SEED
is pleased to be able to offer another opportunity to attend this workshop. The
workshops will also provide landowners with the opportunity to speak directly
with members of several agencies and organizations intimately involved with wind
development in Oregon such as the Oregon Department of Energy, USDA Oregon Rural
Development, attorneys representing landowners and others. Please contact
info@nwseed.org or 206-328-2441 for more
information.
