The Federal Register currently includes the following notices of Request for
Applications (RFA) for Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC).
Community Outreach and Assistance Partnership Program announces the
availability of approximately $2.5 million in fiscal year 2010 (subject to
availability of funds) for collaborative outreach and assistance programs and
limited resource, socially disadvantaged and other traditionally under-served
farmers and ranchers, who produce Priority Commodities as defined within the RFA.
The purpose is to fund projects that provide informational opportunities and
assistance to the aforementioned groups necessary to understand: 1) the kind of
risks addressed by existing and emerging risk management tools; 2) the features
and appropriate use of existing and emerging risk management tools; and 3) how
to make sound risk management decisions. In addition for 2010, RMA will fund
projects in the following Special Emphasis Topic areas: Farm-to-School, Farm
Safety, Food Safety and addressing Food Deserts (urban and rural) with small
farmer/rancher products. The announcement lists the information needed to submit
an application under this program. Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit
completed and signed application packages using overnight mail or delivery
service using the address listed within the RFA. Questions may be forwarded to

Commodity Partnerships for Small Agricultural Risk Management Education Sessions
(Commodity Partnerships Small Sessions Program): FCIC, operating through the
Risk Management Agency announces the availability of approximately $1.1 Million
(subject to availability of funds) for Commodity Partnerships for Small
Agricultural Risk Management Education Sessions. The purpose of this cooperative
partnership agreement program is to deliver training and information in the
management of production, marketing and financial risk to U.S. agricultural
producers. The program gives priority to educating producers of crops currently
not insured under Federal Crop insurance, specialty crops and underserved
commodities, including livestock and forage. A maximum of 110 cooperative
partnership agreements will be funded, with a minimum of 10 in each of the
designated RMA regions. The maximum award for any cooperative partnership
agreement will be $10,000.
The Spokane RMA Region (Alaska, Idaho, Oregon and Washington) educational
priorities as listed within the announcement are: 2011 Final Common Crop
Regulations, Basic Provisions and Various Crop Insurance Provision, Crop
Insurance Choices for Willamette Valley Oregon Producers, Livestock Gross Margin
for Dairy Cattle (LGM), Cherry Actual Revenue History (ARH), Grape Insurance
Program for Western Washington, Adjusted Gross Revenue Programs (AGR/AGR-Lite),
Dry Pea and Lentil Insurance, and Specialty Crops.
