Special Guest Speaker Michele Payn-Knoper
personifies passion. She serves as a resource for people
interested in agriculture and food through speaking and
community building programs. She encourages her audiences to
connect with people’s hot buttons and speak their language.
In 1978 she was dancing with cows and falling in love
with farming. In 1988 she was milking those cows and finding the
rest of the world didn’t share her love of agriculture. In 1998
she took up kickboxing and decided it was time to fight back for
agriculture as a business. In 2008 she added social media as a
fighting move by founding #agchat on twitter, which more than
10,000 people from 10 different countries use to discuss issues
pertaining to food and agriculture. In 2018 she worries about
who will be defining the face of agriculture.
Whether selling $5 million in sponsorship for the
National FFA Foundation, working with farmers in over 25
countries or founding Cause Matters at her home in west central Indiana – her passion runs deep about
agriculture and how we must communicate to the masses.
